Overview

This course is a REMOTE LEARNING course.

This course aims to improve children’s performance in the Core subjects of English and Maths so that they exceed National Standard when they take their SATs examination in Year 6. It addresses the gap in the standard expected in state schools and what parents really want i.e. it provides ‘a prep school education at a price that is affordable’.

The course comprises the following:

English – This focuses on improving children’s grammar, syntax and spelling (SPAG) and their reading, comprehension and writing skills. There are weekly tests to monitor progress and coursework designed to develop proficiency in every area. Competence in English is vital across all subjects in the National Curriculum.

Maths – A complete maths course developed by AE Tuition covers all the topics relevant to the National Curriculum in a systematic way but also presents the children with more challenge. The children do weekly tests so their progress can be charted, and any problem areas identified and addressed speedily. Proficiency in Mathematics is necessary for science and technology and some elements of other National Curriculum subjects have statistical analysis requirements.

• A weekly 2 hour Zoom teaching session delivered by the class teacher with the support of up to two supervisors & eight classroom assistants at the designated lesson time
• All materials sent out on a monthly basis by post (UK addresses only)
• Includes all teaching material (value in excess of £130)
• All assessments, mock exams and parent consultations will be delivered remotely
• One to one support
• For additional support we also provide you with access to video recordings of aspects of each weekly lesson, for the duration of the course (these are pre-recorded & professionally filmed with no pupils present)
• Priority booking onto the following year's course
• The course covers everything required in the National Curriculum for English & Maths but at 'greater depth' with the objective that children should be exceeding national levels by the time they sit the SATs examination in Year 6
