Spark your child’s creativity this summer by putting pen to paper

This summer, boost your child’s creativity with our exciting English course, designed to enhance their creative writing skills. Our summer courses go beyond what children have already learned at school or AE Tuition. They offer a unique opportunity to apply their knowledge creatively with guidance and coaching from our specialist teachers and teaching team.

Keep your child’s brain active this summer

Not all children enjoy physical activity clubs over summer holidays. Some children enjoy the mixture of physical and academic activities, but some just want the mental challenge of something creative. Our summer courses provide an engaging alternative summer club, perfect for children who enjoy an academic challenge or want to prepare for the 11+ exam.

You and your child can choose from English (13-day course), Essential Maths (13-day course), Verbal& Non-verbal Reasoning and Technical English (10-day course), and Advanced Maths (10-day course). Think about what your child needs most; up to two courses are possible.

How your child can get creative with their English skills

Our English course is ideal for children who love reading and creative writing or need encouragement to develop these interests. The highlight of the course is the creative writing exercises, where children start with intriguing story prompts in a variety of genres. There are many titles for children to choose from such as ‘The Tree House,’ ‘The Secret Passage,’ ‘The Ghost Train’ and ‘The Crazy House.’

The course teaches children how to structure stories and create engaging and memorable characters. Each story the children write is redrafted, and they are given detailed one-to-one feedback to improve their writing skills. This process sparks a child’s imagination and reinforces grammar, syntax, punctuation, vocabulary and spelling skills.

What our teachers and teaching team think

Our teachers and teaching team love reading the children’s stories. They are always amazed by the children’s creativity and find it incredibly rewarding to see their creative writing skills improve throughout the course. Every story is unique, and the guidance given helps each child develop their own writing style.

At the end of the course, the teachers enjoy giving the children their certificates for the children’s hard work for improving their writing skills.

Children’s creative achievement doesn’t stop at the end of the course

After completing the English course, your child might want to expand their storytelling abilities by adding illustrations and creating a little booklet, either by hand or put their computer skills to the test and create a digital version.

We actively encourage parents to get involved. Give your child the chance to showcase their stories with friends and family. This can be achieved by organising a storytelling occasion or sending their stories to friends and family. It’s important their achievement is marked so they can be proud of how far they have come and treasure their stories to look back on later in life.

Who can enrol on a Summer course?

Our Summer courses are open to existing AE Tuition children, and children who haven’t attended an AE Tuition course. Children range from school years 5 to 7. Thinking about enrolling on a course? Is there a concern that is stopping you?

I couldn't enrol on the session I wanted for my child
We understand that family schedules can be hectic so it can be challenging to find the perfect group for your child to attend their weekly sessions. We recommend enrolling in a group that best fits your current schedule. This way, you can join waiting lists for any fully booked sessions. If a place becomes available in a group you're waitlisted for, we will contact you directly to see if you would like your child to switch groups.
Courses are too expensive
We understand that paying for the course in full can be challenging. That's why we offer interest-free standing order payments, allowing you to spread the cost over monthly instalments throughout the duration of the course.
There isn't a tuition centre near me
We're delighted that parents want to enrol their child nationwide and even worldwide on our courses. This is why we offer remote courses for our pupils to login to their weekly sessions from anywhere.

It doesn't matter if a child is enrolled on a remote course or a classroom-based course, our methodology stays the same. Pupils who attend our remote-learning courses will experience the same high standard of tuition, provided by experienced, UK-qualified teachers who have also been trained to deliver AE Tuition's specialised programmes.
I'm concerned that there will be too much work for my child
We understand that parents may be concerned about their child's workload. Please be reassured we are here to support both you and your child every step of the way. We take pride in our unique partnership between pupils, parents and teachers, which ensures open communication. If you ever feel that your child is struggling, we strongly encourage you to speak with their teacher or a member of our teaching team as soon as possible so that we can address the issue immediately.
