Year 6 SATs and Secondary School Preparation Course

Overview

This course ensures children have acquired the English and mathematics skills they require for their SATs examinations that take place in May of Year 6.

SATs can be a controversial issue among schools and parents. However, we believe that with appropriate preparation, SATs can significantly enhance a child’s knowledge and build their confidence, ensuring they are well-prepared not only for their SATs exams, but also for a successful beginning to their secondary education.

The course will run from September to May every year.

English – the course covers comprehension, grammar, syntax and spelling and vocabulary at ‘greater depth’, with the objective that children should exceed national level by the time they sit the examination.

Mathematics – the course covers everything required in the National Curriculum but at ‘greater depth’, so the children should exceed national level by the time they sit the examination.
