Overview

This course is a REMOTE LEARNING course.

This course aims to take your child to a very high level of performance and to achieve scholarships in the Independent schools’ sector. It is taught by our most experienced subject specialist teachers.

There is intense competition for scholarships in the private sector. With 35 years of experience in supporting our pupils, we possess extensive knowledge not only in teaching the necessary academic content for exams, but also in navigating the entire scholarship process. We are here to provide comprehensive support to parents throughout this journey.

This course prepares children for the following examinations:

* Independent School 11+ Examinations – These are mainly sat in January and involve English, maths and verbal reasoning. The course fully covers these requirements and also covers general knowledge and interview technique. Children that do very well in these examinations may be offered scholarships by these schools

* Independent School 13+ Common Entrance Examinations – These are sat in January of Year 8. Candidates for this examination follow the same English and maths course with some material enhancements. Extra 13+ books will be provided and will be reviewed in ten individual 1 hour sessions (5 English, 5 maths) with an experienced member of staff. A separate, additional cost schedule will be provided for this.  These will be arranged separately by the tuition centre staff. The children also follow the Additional Maths and English 13+ Curriculum that includes ISEB and other high-quality materials. There will be a separate maths mock examination for these children, but they will sit the same English examination.

* Late Entry 12+/13+ examinations – These are administered centrally by the LEA and require maths, English, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. Children in Years 7 and 8 attend the main scholarship course. However 15 additional individual sessions are provided to cover the verbal and non-verbal reasoning elements. A separate, additional cost schedule will be provided for this (£225). Some Bucks grammars administer their own examinations, and this course also prepares children for these tests although there may be some additional elements such as science and a modern foreign language test, which AE Tuition do not prepare children for.

* Second Round 11+ Grammar school Examinations – This is useful preparation for English and Maths examinations sat in October – December of Year 6.

* Key Stage 2 SATs tests – This course is excellent preparation in English and maths for children aiming to ‘Exceed National Standard’ in their SATs exams in May.

Thinking about enrolling on a course? Is there a concern that is stopping you?

I couldn't enrol on the session I wanted for my child
We understand that family schedules can be hectic so it can be challenging to find the perfect group for your child to attend their weekly sessions. We recommend enrolling in a group that best fits your current schedule. This way, you can join waiting lists for any fully booked sessions. If a place becomes available in a group you're waitlisted for, we will contact you directly to see if you would like your child to switch groups.
Courses are too expensive
We understand that paying for the course in full can be challenging. That's why we offer interest-free standing order payments, allowing you to spread the cost over monthly instalments throughout the duration of the course.
There isn't a tuition centre near me
We're delighted that parents want to enrol their child nationwide and even worldwide on our courses. This is why we offer remote courses for our pupils to login to their weekly sessions from anywhere.

It doesn't matter if a child is enrolled on a remote course or a classroom-based course, our methodology stays the same. Pupils who attend our remote-learning courses will experience the same high standard of tuition, provided by experienced, UK-qualified teachers who have also been trained to deliver AE Tuition's specialised programmes.
I'm concerned that there will be too much work for my child
We understand that parents may be concerned about their child's workload. Please be reassured we are here to support both you and your child every step of the way. We take pride in our unique partnership between pupils, parents and teachers, which ensures open communication. If you ever feel that your child is struggling, we strongly encourage you to speak with their teacher or a member of our teaching team as soon as possible so that we can address the issue immediately.
