Summer Courses

Overview

The summer holiday is a crucial opportunity to prepare for the 11+ exams. These will take place for Year 6 children as soon as they return to school in September. With schools on break, this gives Year 5 children and parents the space to focus on exam preparation while still enjoying their holidays.

Travel as your child learns

Parents need not worry about course clashes with family holidays. Our courses are classroom-based and remote, allowing families to travel freely. Children only need to dedicate a few hours daily to learning during their holiday.

Not just about the exams

Our summer courses are an ideal opportunity for children to enhance their academic skills. While many summer holiday clubs focus on sports, our courses cater for children who wish to engage their minds instead.

What pupils learn in the summer

Our summer courses for Years 5 to 7 are held in the first three weeks of the summer holidays and include: Advanced English; Advanced Maths; VR, NVR and Technical English; and Essential Maths.

Our Summer courses:

• Advanced English (creative writing, comprehension, grammar, syntax, punctuation, spelling and vocabulary and a mock exam) – 13-day course
• Advanced Maths (advanced tests and tables, algebra, a complete revision programme and a mock exam) – 7-day course
• Verbal Reasoning, Non-verbal Reasoning & Technical English (preparation for the 11+ exams and a mock exam) – 10-day course
• Essential Maths (preparation for the 11+ and a mock exam) – 13-day course

Teaching material is provided for all courses and is included in the course fee. Any materials purchased pre-course cannot be refunded.

For new pupils to AE Tuition: A summer course assessment is required to determine the appropriate course/s.  A small charge of £25 will apply, but this is discounted from any subsequent summer course booking.  Our Customer Service team can provide more information.
