Surrey grammar schools test children in Maths and English.
Schools should be contacted individually for their entry procedures. Entry to some schools is by examination only but others also operate a catchment policy.
Examination involves a two-stage process. The first stage is a multiple-choice examination in Numeracy and Literacy. The second stage is usually a written paper in Maths and English.
Children should prepare for these examinations by taking the one year or 9-month 11+ course with AE Tuition. As these schools have specific English and Maths examinations and require very high scores for entry, it is advisable for children to also take the summer English course and the summer Advanced Maths course to maximise their chances of success.
